The test only waits for the index build to show in currentOp but IndexBuildCoordinator may not have registered in the catalog yet, which happens in MultiIndexBlock::init and more specifically in the call to CollectionImpl::prepareForIndexBuild(). Shutting the node down too early may lose the index build after restart.
