Make benchmarks_sep call into some utility that is also used by mongod_main.cpp

      SERVER-106409 added some TODO tickets to the crud_bm.cpp file.

      Currently, the benchmarks_sep fixtures mock mongod_main.cpp rather than call it directly. Some of the hooks have gone out of sync so we should update it to call some utility also used by mongod_main.cpp to avoid this. More examples in the comments.
