• MongoDB 7.0.35

Planned Change:

• Upgrade the operating system from Ubuntu 22.04 to Ubuntu 24.04 while continuing to use MongoDB 7.0.35.

Observation:

• MongoDB 7.0.x does not appear to have an official Ubuntu 24.04 package/repository.
• Ubuntu 24.04 support appears to be available starting with MongoDB 8.0.x.
• MongoDB 7.0 is currently supported until August 31, 2027.

Questions:

• Why is Ubuntu 24.04 not officially supported for MongoDB 7.0.x?
• Are there any technical limitations, dependency issues, or certification concerns that prevented support for Ubuntu 24.04?
• Since MongoDB 7.0 is supported until August 2027, why was Ubuntu 24.04 support not added to the 7.0 release stream?
• Is there any plan to release an official Ubuntu 24.04 package for MongoDB 7.0.x in the future?
