      During investigation of the above BF, a potential bug was identified in the initialization of the materialization counters. Specifically, when the counters are updated based on the first frontier received from the log server, they are incorrectly initialized, causing materialization lag to be reported as 10s immediately. This triggers flow control prematurely, degrading throughput until the first checkpoint completes.
