This should be a supported knob that users can turn, now that we've completed SERVER-116390. A rename will reflect this and avoid confusion about what 'internal' means and whether other 'internal' knobs are actually fair game.

We should provide an alias and preserve compatibility of the old name, but prefer to document and use the non-internal one.
