The block-manager stats provides very helpful information about the checkpoint size and the bytes available for reuse for ESC/ECOC/EDC collections, as well as the EDC _id and safeContent indices. These should not be hidden from a user, especially one who is concerned about any massive sizing reported in the "total size", which may just be inflated because it includes the size of unused & reusable blocks (freeStorageSize).
