      Revert of the v9.0 backport of SERVER-128307 on the v9.0-staging branch.

      Reverts v9.0 commit 74fb2babbcdae403ee7a587b5a47e7f7ddf6fb41 ("SERVER-128307 Fix hanging during initial sync in atlas_initialsync_workflows.js (#55169)").

      This mirrors the revert already landed on master as PR #60947 (da44c5e6a4e3). SERVER-128307 was a follow-up fix for the SERVER-113184 initial sync work that has been backed out of master; the v9.0 branch is being brought back in line.

      Also removes the corresponding etc/backports_required_for_multiversion_tests.yml entries.
