WT_SESSION.verify adds significant duration to the total collection validation as it performs a second scan across the collection and invalidates WT and OS cache. Dropping this from validate will significantly speed up workloads that will not fit in OS cache (most of them). Additionally, it cannot be parallelized like the other record store traversal.
