      Most validation options pass through an enum `ValidateMode` which generates a combination of options that are fed forward into the validate command. 

      This enum should be replaced with a set of options that can be precisely switched to enable specific checks as needed. 

      This ticket will most likely require updates to the public-facing docs if these options need to change.
