The primary periodically emits a replicated metadata checkpoint that contains an entry for the size and count of the oplog. Continuous internode validation performs validation on this checkpoint, but it cannot validate the oplog's size and count because it is not explicitly replicated. Rather, it is derived on the primary, and the standby would need to do significant work to derive it once again.

Remove the oplog entry from the validated checkpoint. Note that on DSC, the oplog's UUID is the same on the standby and primary. On ASC, the oplog UUIDs are different, so this approach will not work.
