      A Sample object contains a vector of docs and some metadata fields. SamplingMetadata already exists and is used to contain metadata for explain, so we should reuse that to contain metadata inside Sample.

      In order to be able to cleanly pass the contained metadata object to explain, the linked tickets must be done first.
