The tools have a default dial timeout of seconds. This causes some tests to fail when a server is slow and takes longer then three seconds to respond.
The tools have a new --dialTimeout option that will override the default.
Set this option in runMongoTool.
max.hirschhorn suggests in BF-1658 that we should probably use 30 seconds.
