The test sharding/auto1.js exists to confirm that chunks get automatically split as they grow due to data insertion. This behavior does not require the balancer to be enabled. Furthermore, the balancer can interfere with chunk splitting over short time periods, since both require the distributed collection lock. That can lead to spurious failures of this test, so we should just disable the balancer in this test.
