Remove usages of getCurrentShardVersionIfKnown and most of getCurrentMetadataIfKnown

      Most usages of getCurrentMetadataIfKnown are actually meant to be getCollectionDescription or getOwnershipFilter except for a few cases. Investigate and change where appropiate and make sure the return type of getCurrentMetadataIfKnown is properly managed.
