      In 5.0 we added the user-facing 'let' option to aggregation commands which subsumes 'runtimeConstants.'  SERVER-47398 tracks the work to stop sending 'runtimeConstants' to shards. Once SERVER-47398 is done, in the next major version we should stop accepting the 'runtimeConstants' option.
