With 3.6 now supporting Ubuntu 18 as of 3.6.20, users are running into SERVER-46342 – fixed in 4.4, but not backported.

I request that a backport be considered: easy fix & alleviates a common frustration with the MDB install process on Debian-based distros (like Ubuntu 18).

I've attached a quick demo of this issue in action with MDB v3.6.20 & Ubuntu 18.04.

Note: our RPM package files already do this. This is only required for DEB builds.
