We think that the code that converts the exception TransactionCoordinatorReachedAbortDecision here is no longer necessary after SERVER-50470 is submitted.
The reason to not remove it right away is because this block is not reached by the test in the above ticket and thus we cannot reason that the removal is safe, while we can reason that keeping this code is safe. Before doing that the test in SERVER-51325 must be completed, which is supposed to reach this fragment.
