rpc_test could be made independent of wiredtiger

      Currently the rpc_test uses wiredtiger for checksumming, but it also links the protocol library which optionally injects the wiredtiger checksum library. Assuming protocol can function without wired tiger and has some other method for checksumming, this functionality could be exposed so that the rpc_test could call on the protocol library for checksumming and then also be independent of wiredtiger.
