      We should explore the possibility of simplifying the command execution path in ServiceEntryPointCommon and reduce the cost of supporting asynchronous command execution by removing unnecessary future constructions.

      The intended outcome here is to file other tickets that simplify and improve ServiceEntryPointCommon.
