We would like to remove from the shell the code that can create messages with legacy op codes (alongside with the options that enable the functionality), however we still need to test handling of the received legacy messages (error response + logging) on the server side.

Investigate whether this testing could be done either via the C++ tests (and migrate the tests if the answer is positive) or by providing a custom "legacy driver".
