      Use this ticket to generate gcov reports or similar in order to start a discussion around the unit tests for ShardingDataTransformMetrics classes and achieving good coverage. File additional tickets as necessary to shore up any gaps.

      Acceptance criteria:

      • Compile the C++ unit tests for ReshardingMetricsNew with --gcov and use lcov to generate a static HTML report file.
