Today, the mock LDAP server only contains a subset of the actual ldaptest.10gen.cc server's directory. Once it matches the actual directory, the LDAP tests relying on the ldap_authz_lib.js test library (which is ~90% of all LDAP tests) can point to both the mock server and the actual ldaptest.10gen.cc box. This is more representative of customer workloads, who often have multiple LDAP servers, will test MongoDB's ability to query multiple LDAP servers, and will reduce failures induced by ldaptest.10gen.cc downtime without totally relying on a localhost mock server.
