Not able to restart mongodb server after deleting some log files

      We are using MongoDB shell version: 2.4.5 on Amazon Linux AMI release 2013.03.

      1. delete some old log files (files like somedb.1 , somedb.2...)
      2. stop mongo db server (service mongod stop)
      3. start mongo db server(service mongod start) - it was not starting showing error like Error#1
      4. Try to repair   by using this command  mongod --repair --dbpath /dbpath/db db --smallfiles

      We are not able to restart MongoDb server after deleting old db log files.

      getting below error -

      While repairing  getting this error - Assertion failure isOk() src/mongo/db/pdfile.h 

      While starting the server getting this error.

      Starting mongod: about to fork child process, waiting until server is ready for connections.
      all output going to: /var/log/mongo/mongod.log
      forked process: 7578
      ERROR: child process failed, exited with error number 100
                                                                 [FAILED]
