With https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-79281 we removed the package task from a lot of variants added some validation to make sure we do not run the package task on accident again.

There were some cases we did not consider with binary pushing/publishing with windows and macos and this ended up being release blocking so we pushed/are pushing https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/SERVER-80435 as a quick fix.

We should re-add this validation back but it is a low priority.
