The _id:1 shard key assigned by default to unsplittable collections must be ignored in the following scenarios:

• For existing unsplittable collections: when trying to assign key ranges to zones, this check expects the shard key to be respected
• For unsplittable collections being created: the coordinator validates existing zones against the shard key
