      We may want to explicitly trigger a checkpoint for various reasons

      • It's useful in tests, no need to explicitly stop an SP to make it write a checkpoint
      • After a rollout, we may want to explicitly trigger a checkpoint and verify that it looks good instead of waiting for CheckpointCoordinator to do it.
