As part of SERVER-86796, the direct shard operation checks were moved into the db/collection acquisitions and auto getters. However, the testing for this feature is minimal due to most server tests being run without authentication or direct connections.

This ticket is to increase the test coverage so that we can be confident that once the cluster parameter is set to true, no direct operations can complete.
