We play it pretty fast and loose with mixing microseconds with Date_t, the latter of which only has a millisecond resolution. We need to figure out roughly:

• Consistent and clear APIs for microsecond and millisecond time management and tracking.
• What we expect for modules we own (Timer, ClockSource, etc)
• What resolution feature teams want and need for their use case.

This effort seems like somewhere between a couple tickets and a small project.
