      This is the follow-up ticket for SERVER-84315.

      Adding new server parameter and using it it debug build variants all in the same patch doesn't play well with multiversion tests. Instead new query knob has to be introduced  and backported first and only then it can be used. 

      This ticket is the result of previous revert of SERVER-84315 caused by BF-33510 .
