Mirrored reads are performed in "fire and forget" mode, which means they do not receive a response from the remote server. However, there are still a number of errors that can occur prior to or during sending the request (e.g. timeouts, network errors), and we currently just ignore them. We should instead track these errors so that we have visibility into any problems issuing mirrored reads (e.g. logging or through metrics).
