The public-facing documentation for partial indexes doesn't list any geo expressions as viable partial filter expressions for defining a partial index, but it seems to work for a $geoIntersects expression over a 2dsphere index. We should investigate the extent to which geo expressions are permitted and correct for partial indexes (over normal or 2dsphere indexes), and consider filing followup work to update the documentation to better reflect what's allowed.
