      According to the experiment result, the characteristics of a collection may affect how a histogram performs under different partitioning rules. Based on the insight, we design a strategy to choose the partitioning rule depending on the characteristics of the data. A few factors to take into account:

      3. NDV
      4. Collection size / NDV
