The search e2e testing framework tests .js tests with both the released and latest version of mongot depending on the suite. If a .js test is reliant on functionality in the latest version of mongot which has not been released yet, it is impossible (or very hard) to write a test that will pass evergreen testing. There should be some functionality added to be able to tag tests based on a mongot version to enable tests to only run for specific versions.
