Both release integration and customers will benefit greatly from being able to easily test out mongo-container rc releases before a final release is cut.

Providing the RC images that are as close to the production ones as possible gives us an opportunity to test the entire stack earlier in the process. This in turn gives us more confidence to deliver a high quality integration for both the Ops Manager and the Database 8.0. Providing such a high quality integration is a key for building trust between our customers and MongoDB.

I’m a huge fan of this initiative and would love to see such a RC release process being established. My Team would highly appreciate it and I’m more than certain this will help us ship things with good quality and on timely manner.

The build team will try to implement this in Q3 if possible to do while setting up the v8.0 mongo-container pipeline. If it's not a straight-forward implementation, this may fall back to Q4
