mathias@mongodb.com suggested we should try adding this link flag ('-Wl,--compress-sections=.debug_*=zstd:1') as an on-by-default feature so we can experiment with it. He has promising results using the v4 toolchain that show significant CPU time savings may be possible, but his experiments don't exactly match our build environment. We will have to confirm the gains.
