The AL2023 transition is threatening to orphan AL2 snapshot backups, and the backup team has identified backups from 6.1-6.3 that have persisted over time.

The hard deadline here is in June, when we worry we can no longer provision AL2 machines

As part of this effort, it would be an extremely important to have a product-ratified matrix of what EOL means for various platform components, including these long tail things like "Backup support for provider-unsupported platforms"
