The stat_discover_shard jstest will sometimes check the output before the server discovery has finished. The timeout is currently 5 seconds, which may not be enough for slower systems. The stat_discover test also has intermittent issues. The mongostat jstests should be changed to be less reliant on sleeps, which are prone to timing issues.
