      currently, we build the tools with some or all of the following build tags:

      • failpoints
      • ssl
      • sasl
      • gssapi

      We should consider the following questions:

      • Can the ssl and sasl build tags be removed?
      • Should we just build the tools with failpoints enabled unconditionally?
