We upgraded the driver from 1.10.x to 1.16.x. This led to a huge number of linting issues because of the use of deprecated APIs. For now, these are being excluded from the linting checks, but we should fix these for real.

Remove the config that excludes them in .golangci.yml and then fix the issues that this surfaces.
