The wiredtiger backlog contains a vast amount of failures related to disk issue. Sometimes these appear as WT errors and often require further triaging to figure out if it truly disk related or not. This is particularly even harder to diagnose when customer issues run into disk related issues and we don't have the relevant coredumps or data to figure this out.

This ticket aims to investigate how we can provide better explicit warning or error messages when this is happening.
