The default page sizes (internal and leaf sizes for both indexes and collections) are values we selected 10+ years ago. These values, chosen for on-prem deployments, may not be the best option for disaggregated storage.

We should evaluate the trade-offs for a few different page sizes and provide recommended settings for use with disaggregated storage.

This evaluation should wait until the implementation is more mature so that we are evaluating the performance trade-offs as they are likely to appear in the product.
