      Custom collators are not yet supported for layered tables (see WT-14738).

      Until that work is completed, any configuration that attempts to use a custom collator with a layered table should fail with an explicit error.

      Currently, tests executed with unsupported configuration do not fail with an error that highlights the root cause.
