Investigate the existing MongoDB/SESI microbenchmark suites and function-level benchmarks related to oplog application. The goal is to identify where time is being spent in the oplog apply path (e.g. WiredTiger writes) and what ops/sec we currently achieve. Document the relevant benchmarks, gaps, and recommendations for any new microbenchmarks needed to isolate the main bottlenecks.
