Currently we are ramping up testing of older releases of WiredTiger. This ramping includes running test/format on the mongodb-3.0 branch.

There have been a number of changes to test/format that have were not backported into the mongodb-3.0 branch. With the increase in testing there have been a number of freezes and hangs on the mongodb-3.0 branch (see WT-3038). It is a good idea to backport the current (develop) version of test/format to the mongodb-3.0 branch to have any known issues resolved.
