Inconsistency in documentation configuration output

      In our documentation source files, src/docs/*.dox, we reference configuration strings with \c and those get rendered as a fixed-width typeface font. It appears generally that it will render the next word in that typeface. But there is an anomaly in that if the text until the next whitespace contains parens, then the content of the parens is not in the same fixed-width font. It leads to text that looks like this:

      log=(archive=false).

      There are several files that exhibit the error. There are several others that solve this problem in different ways. We should pick one way and make all of them consistent and correct.
