Sometimes customers report that they have experienced data corruption, it would be useful when that happens to have a tool they can run which verifies that the disk isn't unusually susceptible to data corruption.

The tool wouldn't need to run everywhere.

It could possibly be based on the fio tool, using it's verify option. We also have some internal testing setup that uses dd - which might be an alternative implementation.
