There are several recent cases of the evergreen stress tests filling the disk after hundreds of test failures. The stress tests are set to continue on failure, so format.sh will keep running for the entire test period (often 24 hours) only to output thousands of "No space left on device" errors. It would be great if we could terminate the script as soon as we see the disk is full.

One example is here. After hundreds of (maybe?) legitimate test failures, runs 170-21320 fail with the "No space left on device" error.

      A second example is here.
