Once we think our workload conforms to the technical design, we should leave it running against 4.2 for long enough to confirm that it stresses the system in the way that we're hoping.
Some key statistics to look for should be the number of lookaside reads, lookaside pages read into cache, and whether the insert rate is fluctuating.
