Currently the local storage extension marks files as non-flushed (by creating a separate "marker" file).  It removes those mark files when the files are flushed.  It would be an easier model, and more useful in the future to copy flushed files in a separate directory.  Then it would be clearer what is in the cloud, and what is cached locally.
