In our technical discussions we believe that the object: element in metadata needs a flush=0|1 item to indicate whether it was flushed to the shared storage or not. This ticket implements that item. It would be set to false in tiered_create_object when it creates the initial object: metadata and set to true when the internal thread completes a copy to the shared storage.
